Changing your perspective
I have been struggling with this week’s newsletter as you can tell by the late publication! However I promised weekly so weekly it shall be even if it is at the end of the week rather than the beginning. I was having a huge problem getting the topic I wanted to talk about to fit in to key word searches and then today I just thought stuff it I am just going to write it as I thought about it quite a number of days ago.
I was meditating this morning (now some days ago) and I realised the importance of perspective on life. This is something I have known about for a long time. I remember as a teenager pondering why when you are in a relationship you cannot see what is going on but from the outside it all seems so clear. This is true of all things in life, if you have a challenge of any kind getting distance from it so that you can gain a different perspective can change everything.
So how do you create this different perspective? Firstly you need to want to create it. Make space, take a walk, meditate, talk to someone who you know is honest, and has good judgment, someone who isn’t scared to tell you the hard truth. Take a holiday or even a day off. Just create space between you and the challenge. You will know when you have created this space because you will be able to look at it without intense emotion, and you will be able to let go of your judgments and your defences only then can you truly look at your challenge objectively.
So once you have created your space you need to approach the challenge in the right manor. Recently I have seen many people want something in life but instead of looking at how they can make it happen they look at why the cant make it happen. You have to realise that you mind is phenomenal but you need to know how to use it. You need to be able to focus it on what you want to create rather on what you don’t want to create. Simply brainstorm what needs to happen to get what you want. Let us look at some common scenarios
This has been a short one this week I already have ideas for next week’s so it should arrive a lot sooner than this weeks.
With love Britt
